Ignition Coil Resistance Measurements

Primary Coil Resistance Measurement
1. Place ignition switch in the ``Off'' position.
2. Disconnect ignition coil terminals, then measure resistance between ignition coil positive terminal and ignition coil negative terminal.
3. If resistance is not 1.2-1.5 ohms, replace coil.

Secondary Coil Resistance Measurement
1. Place ignition switch in the ``Off'' position.
2. Disconnect ignition coil terminals, then measure resistance between ignition coil positive terminal and high voltage terminal.
3. If resistance is not 10,200-13,800 ohms, replace coil.

Insulation Resistance Measurement
1. Place ignition switch in the ``Off'' position.
2. Disconnect ignition coil terminals, then measure resistance between ignition coil positive terminal and body.
3. If resistance is not 10m ohms or more, replace coil.
