SERVICE INFORMATION

If the exhaust manifold bolts are found to be loose, a higher-strength bolt is available for attaching the exhaust manifold to the engine block. The bolt originally used in this application is graded 7T; the new bolt is graded 9T. The torque specification is greater for the 9T bolt.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Replace the four exhaust manifold bolts with 9T bolts. Torque the 9T bolts to 2.8 kg-m (20.2 ft.lb.).
