SLOW SEAT BELT RETRACTION
VEHICLES AFFECTED
All Isuzu vehicles.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Seat belts may become slow to retract due to accumulation of dirt on the seat belt webbing and on the seat belt door ring.
The cleaning procedures described in this Service Bulletin may correct poor scat belt retraction in some cases. In severe cases, the belt must be replaced.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. To clean seat belt door ring:
a. Remove anchor cover from the seat belt door ring.
b. Move seat belt webbing aside.
c. Clean dirt from ring with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and mild soap.
d. Wipe off soap and water with a clean dry cloth.
e. Install anchor cover.
2. To clam seat belt
a. Clean dirt from seat belt webbing with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and mild soap.
b. Be sure to extend the seat belt in order to clean its entire length.
c. Wipe off soap and water from the entire length of the seat belt with a clean dry cloth.
