IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE
Attachment A lists VINs of vehicles which require only PCV valve replacement. Warranty claims for fuel tank replacement (Campaign ISZ-S-001) on vehicles with these VINs will be denied by American Isuzu Motors Inc. See "OWNER NOTIFICATION" section for additional information.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Under cold environmental conditions, moisture in the crankcase blow-by gases can freeze in the PCV system hoses. This condition can cause oil to be forced out of the engine, resulting in a fire without prior warning. Such a fire could, in time, spread to the passenger compartment. This Campaign Bulletin contains the procedure for installing an improved PCV valve to prevent this condition.
OWNER NOTIFICATION
All owners of affected vehicles will be notified by letter from American Isuzu Motors Inc. (copies enclosed). Two letters will be issued for this campaign. One letter jointly covers both the PCV and fuel tank campaigns. The other letter covers only the PCV campaign. Each Isuzu dealer will be supplied with a detailed list of affected vehicles originally allotted to that dealership. The list will contain VIN and detailed owner information. If none of the affected vehicles were shipped to a dealership, no list will be sent.
