1. Check for continuity between connector terminal No. 8 and 13 on TCS control unit, Fig. 16, with contacts closed on stepping motor and micro switch Fig. 17. Ensure that TCS control unit and engine body harness are connected.

2. If no continuity is present, check terminal connection of harness between connector terminals No. 8 and 13 on TCS control unit harness side and micro switch terminals, Fig. 18, then compare with specifications in chart Fig. 19. Correct or replace harness if necessary or steeping motor.

3. If continuity is present between terminals No. 8 and 13 in step 1, ensure continuity is not present when contacts are open between micro switch and stepping motor Fig. 20, by rotating steeping motor.

4. If continuity is present in step 3, check harness between connector terminals No. 8 and 13 on TCS control unit harness side and micro switch terminals, Fig. 18, then compare with specifications in chart Fig. 21.
5. Replace harness or stepping motor as necessary.
