Anti-Theft Labels:

VEHICLES AFFECTED

1987 Impulse (JR) models.

SERVICE INFORMATION

In accordance with Federal regulations, an anti-theft label (or stamping) will appear on the following major replacement parts:

1. Engine (stamping).

2. Transmission (stamping).

3. Both front fenders (label).

4. Hood (label).

5. Both doors (label).

6. Front and rear bumpers (label).

7. Both rear quarter panels (label).

8. Hatchback (label).
Federal regulations require manufacturers to install permanent anti-theft labels. Do not attempt to remove these labels for any reason.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

The label is covered by a clear masking layer. After the replacement part is installed and painted, the masking layer must be peeled off. Use only your fingernail or a similar blunt instrument to peel off the masking layer. Use of a sharp object will damage the underlying anti-theft label.

CAUTION

Federal regulations require that the masking layer be removed after painting. Refer to the 1987 Impulse (JR) Workshop Manual for label locations.
