Oil Pan or Gasket Replacement On-Car Service (SOHC and DOHC Model)
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.2. Drain the engine oil from oil pan.
3. Disconnect the exhaust pipe at the exhaust manifold.
4. Remove the passenger side engine mount from the body.
5. Remove the flywheel dust cover.
v 6. Remove the oil pan.
Note:
Use the special tool. Using a screwdriver or pry bar will deform the oil pan sealing surface.

v 7. Oil Pan
v 1) Completely remove all residual sealant, lubricant and
moisture from the connecting surfaces. The surfaces must be perfectly dry.
2) Apply a correct width bead of sealant (TB-1207C or its equivalent) to the contact surfaces of the oil pan. There must be no gaps in the bead.
3) The oil pan must be installed within 30 minutes after sealant application.
v 4) The engine must not be started within 30 minutes of
installing the oil pan.
5) Tighten the bolts and nuts to the specified torque.

8. Install the flywheel dust cover.
9. Install the passenger side engine mount. 4XE1

10. Reconnect exhaust pipe at exhaust manifold.
11. Reconnect battery ground cable.
