The Inlet Air Temperature Switch provides the ECM with a signal related to the temperature of air entering the engine. The signal prevents the ECM from setting trouble code 44 (lean oxygen sensor indication) when the temperature is 0°C (32°F) or below. It is an "ON/OFF" bimetal switch that has continuity at the specified temperature.
