Turbo

Idle Speed Screw:

Adjust engine idle speed under the following conditions:

1. Engine at normal operating temperature.
2. Lights, A/C, engine cooling fan, and accessories turned off.
3. Pressure regulator VSV electrical connector disconnected.
4. Engine idling with throttle valve completely closed and idle switch "ON".
5. Transmission in "Park" or "Neutral".
6. "Check Engine" light is not on with engine running.

Start engine and check idle speed. If incorrect, adjust as follows:

1. Jumper test terminals "A" and "C" of ALDL connector (located under the right side of the dash near the ECM).
2. Gradually increase engine speed to 2,000 rpm and hold for 1 minute, then let engine idle.
3. Adjust idle speed screw "A" on the throttle body so that engine idles at 950 rpm.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3, and recheck idle speed.
5. Remove ALDL jumper wire and clear codes. To clear codes, temporarily remove the 30A ECM fuse in the engine compartment fuse block or disconnect the battery for at least ten seconds.
