Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

Throttle Position Sensor Testing:

1. Without disconnecting the throttle position sensor (TPS), pull back the water shield.
2. Turn the ignition switch "ON" and ensure that power source voltage to the red wire connector is 5V (± 0.5V).

NOTE: TPS leads are as follows:
Red: 5V power source
White: output
Black: ground

3. Measure voltage at the white wire connector. In the idle position, voltage should be above 4V and in the full throttle position, voltage should be below 4V.
4. The difference between idle and full positions should be 3.6V (± 1.0V).
5. Check the harness and connectors between the TCS controller and TPS for shorted or open circuits and faulty terminal connections.
