DTC 51

Code 51 indicates faulty ROM in ECM.
Code 52 indicates faulty RAM in ECM.

DIAGNOSTIC CHART

Codes 51 & 52 Diagnostic Chart:

Before condemning the ECM, make the following check:

1. Disconnect ECM harness connectors and ensure that all terminal connections are in good condition.
2. Make any necessary repairs, restore all connections and road test vehicle.
3. Access trouble codes and see if problem has been corrected. If the trouble persists, replace the ECM.
