^ 1988-89 I-Mark (JT), 1990-92 Impulse (JI) and 1991-92 Stylus (JS) models equipped with 1.6L 4XE1 or 1.8L 4XF1 engine;

^ 1992-on Trooper (UX) and 1993-on Rodeo (UC) models equipped with 3.2L 6VD1 engine.

When replacing the cylinder head on affected models, the components must be transferred from the old cylinder head to the new cylinder head:





Refer to Figure 1 for location of oil check valve, oil relief valve and cylinder head plug.
