Two Wheel Drive
1. Disconnect battery cables, then drain transaxle fluid.2. Mark hood hinge positions for installation of hood, then remove hood.
3. Remove battery and battery tray, then the air duct and air cleaner assembly.
4. Disconnect wire connectors, ground cable and engine wiring harness clamp from the transaxle side.
5. Disconnect ignition coil ground cable and ignition cable.
6. Disconnect clutch cable, then the shift and select cables.
7. Raise and support vehicle, then disconnect speedometer cable.
8. Remove front wheel and tire assemblies, then the engine undercovers.
9. Using tie rod removal tool No. J-21687-02, disconnect left and right tie rod end from steering knuckle assembly.
10. Remove ball joint pinch bolt, then disconnect ball joint from steering knuckle.
11. Remove the remaining bolts attaching the center bearing support bracket to engine (righthand drive axle shaft).
12. Disengage both drive axle shafts from transaxle side, then support engine with hoist or equivalent.
13. Remove front exhaust pipe, then the torque rod and bracket.
14. Remove left mount rubber, then the center beam with rear mount rubber.
15. Remove engine stiffener, then the flywheel inspection cover.
16. Remove transaxle to engine retaining bolts, then the transaxle assembly from vehicle.
17. Reverse procedure to install.
