Wiper and Washer Systems: Description and Operation
With the ignition switch in ON or START, battery voltage is applied to the rear wiper/washer switch and rear wiper motor from fuse 3.WIPE
When the rear wiper/washer switch is pushed to the WIPE position, battery voltage is applied to the rear wiper motor and the rear wiper runs.
WIPE/WASH
When the rear wiper/washer switch is pushed to the WIPE/WASH position, battery voltage is applied to the rear wiper motor and rear washer motor. The rear wiper runs and the rear washer motor pumps fluid on the rear window until the switch is released, removing battery voltage from the rear washer motor and restoring the rear wiper/washer switch to the OFF or WIPE position.
PARK/RUN
When the rear wiper/washer switch is pushed to OFF, fuse 3 provides battery voltage to the rear wiper motor through the RUN position contacts. When the switch on the motor reaches the PARK position, battery voltage from fuse 3 is removed from the circuit and the rear wiper stops in the PARK position.
