Automatic Transaxle
Battery voltage is applied at all times from the positive battery terminal to the
ignition switch and the normally open
starter solenoid contacts. When the ignition switch is turned to ON or START and the inhibitor switch is in either PARK or NEUTRAL, battery voltage is applied to the neutral relay. The neutral relay energizes and closes the normally open contacts. When the ignition switch is turned to START, battery voltage is applied to the restart relay through the closed contacts of the neutral relay. The restart relay energizes and applies battery voltage to the starter solenoid coils. The starter solenoid coils energize, the starter solenoid contacts closes and battery voltage is applied to the
starter motor. The starter motor engages to start the engine.
