Front

1. Working From inside passenger compartment, remove steering column shaft pinch bolts.
2. Remove steering column intermediate shaft.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Remove front exhaust pipe, then the power steering hydraulic line from rear of steering unit.
5. Remove wheel and tire assembly, then the lower ball joint pinch bolt.
6. Using tie rod end removal tool No. J-21687-02 or equivalent, disconnect tie rod end from steering knuckle.
7. Lift and support engine with jack or equivalent, then disconnect engine torque rod at the center beam.
8. Support crossmember assembly with jack or equivalent.
9. Disconnect engine mounting at rear, then remove two bolts at center beam and four bolts at the crossmember.
10. Carefully lower crossmember assembly with steering unit from vehicle.
11. Remove steering unit from crossmember, then stabilizer bar. Stabilizer bar cannot be removed unless the crossmember assembly is removed. The stabilizer bushing can be removed regardless of removal of stabilizer bar.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
