1. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures, then disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Pull switch panel out and disconnect switch electrical connectors, Fig. 4.
3. Pull cigar lighter bezel out and disconnect lighter electrical connectors.
4. Remove hood opener cable.
5. Remove knee pad assembly.
6. Remove two glove box hinge pins, then the glove box.
7. Remove heater control lever knobs, ashtray, front console panel and front console side cover, Fig. 5.
8. On models equipped with manual transmission, remove shift knob.
9. On models equipped with automatic transmission, remove indicator cover.
10. Remove parking brake hole cover and console pad.
11. Remove floor console assembly, then loosen four control lever assembly retaining screws. Do not disconnect control lever cables
12. Loosen four audio bracket retaining screws, then pull audio bracket out and disconnect audio connector and antenna cable.
13. Loosen eight bolts and two nuts attaching front console bracket, then pull front console bracket out and remove DERM with bracket.

14. Remove meter hood attaching screws, Fig. 6, then disconnect lighting, windshield wiper and washer switch electrical connectors.
15. Disconnect meter electrical connectors and speedometer cable from meter assembly.
16. Remove instrument panel front hole covers, Fig. 4, then the front cover.
17. Remove instrument panel assembly.
18. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure all connectors are securely connected.
b. Turn ignition switch to the ``On'' position while watching the warning light. The light should flash 7-9 times then go off.
19. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
