Front Disc
REMOVE1. Remove brake caliper.
Front Hub:
2. Remove dust cover from bearing hub.
3. Remove split pin, castle lock, nut, and outer wheel bearing.
4. Remove hub complete with brake disc, from spindle.
5. Remove five bolts securing disc to hub and remove disc.
REFIT
1. Clean hub mounting surface and fit new disc.
2. Tighten disc mounting bolts to:
40 ft lbs (54.2 Nm)
3. Refit hub to spindle and adjust bearing end-float. Should be:
0.002 - 0.006 in (0.05 - 0.15 mm)
NOTE: End-float is measured by fitting a dial indicator with the button against the hub.
4. If the original disc is refitted, reverse above steps to refit. If a new disc was fitted, continue below.
5. Check gap between caliper abutments and disc face. Gap on opposite sides of disc may differ up to 0.010 in (0.25 mm) but gap on upper and lower abutments on same side of disc should be the same.
6. If disc is not central in caliper, remove one caliper mounting bolt and add or withdraw shim required to centralize disc.
7. Refit caliper bolt.
8. Repeat above operation on remaining caliper mounting bolt.
9. Recheck gap.
10. Refit caliper.
