SUBJECT: STEERING COLUMN SQUEAK
MODEL: XJ6 & XJ-S
Technical Service Bulletin J83/62 recommended SUPER-LUBE for lubricating the horn contact ring in the upper steering column.
The contact ring is easily accessible by removing the lower trim panel. This operation does not require the removal of the upper steering column.
Warranty claims for the removal and replacement of the upper steering column for lubrication purposes will not be accepted.
