COPY OF BULLETIN NO. J84/16

SUBJECT: NON-STANDARD TIRES AND WHEELS

MODEL: ALL

It has come to our attention that some dealers are fitting non-standard tires and wheels to Jaguar vehicles. WE STRONGLY DISAPPROVE OF THIS PRACTICE.

Since most non-standard tires and wheels (in particular, wire wheels) lack the torsional rigidity and lateral stability of the vehicle's original equipment, their fitment and use may adversely affect the steering suspension, road-holding, and braking characteristics of our vehicles. THE USE OF NONSTANDARD TIRES AND WHEELS MAY LEAD TO ACCIDENTS AND SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES.

You are hereby reminded that JCI will not honor any warranty claims for repairs performed as a result of the fitment of such tires and wheels. In addition. JCI expressly disclaims liability for any personal injury or property damage which may result from the use of such (optional equipment. A COPY OF THIS BULLETIN SHOULD BE GIVEN TO ANY CUSTOMER WHO EXPRESSES AN INTEREST IN THE FITMENT OF NON-STANDARD TIRES OR WHEELS ON HIS OR HER JAGUAR VEHICLE.

Dealers are advised that the practice of fitting wheels, steering wheels, headlight assemblies, radios, etc., removed from Jaguar vehicles as a substitution for non-standard parts does not conform to Warranty Policy and Procedure. These parts must not be used for warranty replacements. Only new, approved parts from stock may be claimed on warranty. The use of used components removed from vehicles is not permitted. If this practice is revealed during dealer warranty audits, then the dealership will be debited for the parts used.
