ISSUE:
Federal law requires that all Jaguar vehicles are fitted with the following identification plates or labels imprinted with the VIN.
^ VIN Plate - located on the A post adjacent to the windshield or in the panel just below the windshield on the driver side of the vehicle.
^ Safety Certification Label - located on the lower face of the driver door B/C post (Sedan Range) or the driver door shutface (XJS Range).
^ Underhood Emission Certification and Tune Up Label - located in the engine compartment (Sedan Range) or the underside of the hood (XJS Range).
In addition, VIN imprinted antitheft labels are required for the engine, transmission and specified body panels. Information concerning the components and required location of these labels can be found in the Body Systems and Body Repair section of the respective vehicle Service Manuals.
If an identification plate or certification label is illegible, damaged or missing, it must be replaced.
ACTION:
If an identification plate or certification label is illegible, damaged or missing, replacement identification plates or labels (imprinted with the VIN) MUST be obtained from Jaguar Cars Product Compliance.
All removed identification plates or labels MUST be returned to Jaguar Cars. Mail removed plates or labels to:

Replacement identification plates or certification labels may be requested via FAX or electronic mail by following the appropriate procedure described in this bulletin.
NOTE:
Antitheft labels are not replaceable labels.

IMPORTANT:
The VIN Plate Label Requisition in this bulletin MUST be used for FAX requests.
Complete all the information requested on the requisition form and Fax a copy of the form to Jaguar Cars, Product Compliance Department, FAX number 201-818-9897.

Include ALL the information requested on the VIN Plate/Label Requisition form in the electronic mail transmission.
