Timer Unit: Testing and Inspection

1. Check brown / slate (gray) wire to relay. Should have battery voltage with engine running. If not, check circuit from pump relay to timer relay.
2. Check white / blue wire to relay. Should have battery voltage in cranking mode only. If not, check circuit from ignition switch to starter relay. Wire from ignition switch is white / yellow. Changes color at starter relay to white / blue.
3. Check black wire to relay. Should be grounded.
4. Check pink / white wire to relay. Should be grounded for approximately 45 seconds after each engine start. If not and steps 1 - 3 are good, replace relay.
