Pressure Test
FUEL SYSTEMPRESSURE TEST
Depressurize fuel systems. Slacken clip securing left-hand cold start injector hose to fuel rail, disconnect hose.
Connect pressure gauge pipe to fuel rail and secure using hose clip.
Pull -ve' L.T. lead from ignition coil.
Connect terminal 85 of pump relay to earth (ground).
Switch on ignition and check pressure gauge reading.
Reading must be between 28.5 and 30.8 lbf/in2 (2,0-2,2 kgf/cm2).
If reading high, check for blockage in return line.
If reading low, check for blockage or choked filter in supply line or pump suction pipes.
If satisfactory reading cannot be obtained carry out operation 19.45.12 (Pressure regulator - adjust) and if necessary renew pressure regulator or fuel pump. Switch off ignition, depressurize fuel system and remove pressure gauge.
Switch on ignition and check for leaks.
Remove earth (ground) connection from terminal 85 of pump relay.
Re-connect L.T. lead at ignition coil.
