Removal and Installation - Mark III





- With the air conditioning unit removed from the car and placed on a workbench.

- Remove the screws securing the heater matrix pipe retaining bracket to the unit and remove the bracket.

- Remove the screws securing the back plate to the unit, ease the rubber pad from the back plate (1), remove the screws securing the expansion valve mounting plate 10 the back plate (2), and ease the back plate (3) over the expansion valve.

NOTE: Take care to prevent damage to the capillary tube.

- Remove the thermostat (4) by disconnecting the cables and removing the fixing nut.
- Carefully ease the thermostat capillary tube from the air conditioning unit.
- Ease the evaporator clear of the air conditioning unit (5).
