INFORMATION
Federal regulations require 1986 model year vehicles manufactured after September 1, 1985, to be fitted with a High Mounted Stop Light. Some 1986 vehicles manufactured before this date have had the stop lights fitted, and dealers may have already received these vehicles.

There are four bulbs fitted in the lights. They are accessible by pushing up two plastic spring tags at each end of the underside of the lamp cover and withdrawing the cover.

It is not possible to retrofit the stop light as there are differences in the rear window and rear harness in XJ6, VDP, and XJ-S models. The following part numbers are applicable:
