Driver's Door-Lock Control Unit
DOOR LOCK CONTROL UNIT1. Remove driver's inside door panel.
2. Close window and remove tape securing unit harness to door interior.
Front Lock Switch/Motor:
3. Disconnect control unit harness connector.
4. Remove two screws securing control unit to bracket on the inner door rail and release the linkage piece from unit.
5. Remove unit from door.
6. Remove two screws securing unit to mounting bracket and remove unit.
7. Fit new unit to bracket and refit to door. Do not fully tighten screws at this time.
8. Find multiplug harness connector with orange/red and orange/green wires, in left front door post and disconnect connector.
9. Connect a continuity tester across connector terminals in door harness.
10. Use a screwdriver or punch to set door latch in closed position.
11. Set inside door lock flap to locked position.
12. Position lock control unit backward toward lock assembly. Slowly move unit forward until test light momentarily flashes. Stop when light flashes and tighten unit in place.
13 . Reconnect harness connector and check operation of control unit. Readjust if necessary.
14. Secure harness inside door with new tape and refit door panel.
Caution: Wrong connection can destroy control unit.
If it is necessary to connect an independent power supply to control unit while it is still in door, observe the following connections:
Positive (+) is purple
Negative (-) is black
It is recommended that this procedure is carried out with unit off the car.
