Transmission fluid loss from the top of the dipstick tube can be caused by a blocked automatic transmission breather.

The breather, which is a plastic cap located by a clip, is situated on top of the extension housing.

An inspection should be made to ensure that the breather is not being obstructed by the transmission tunnel foam insulation pad.
