Hydraulic Accumulators Have Transposed Logic Ground Wires

JAGUAR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM
NO: 10
Model: XJ6 3.6 Date: JANUARY, 1988
KEY POINTS: SOFTWARE ISSUE 4004
Cases have been reported where power hydraulic accumulators have transposed logic ground (B/K) wires Pin 1 and Pin 5) at connector RS25.
NOTE: Only the accumulator side of the connector is affected.
This condition does not affect the operation of the power hydraulic and ride level system, but will affect a JDS test, should a fault develop. If one of the ground wires is at fault, then an incorrect diagnosis could result.
JDS operators should verify that the logic grounds are in the correct pin before performing a JDS test on the system.
The correct pin/wire information is as follows:
RS25 Pin 2 (Y/B) Low charge switch
RS25 Pin 5 (B/K) Low charge switch
RS25 Pin 6 (Y/R) Low pressure warning switch
RS25 Pin 1 (B/K) Low pressure warning switch
The pins can be removed from the connector by displacing the cable seal retaining lid and the seal itself, then using Service Tool JD 138 to remove the pins from their housing.
NOTE: JDS should only be used if an electronic fault is suspected. JDS cannot diagnose mechanical faults within the Power Hydraulic system, such as defective pumps, struts, etc.
