Solar Sensor: Description and Operation
A solar sensor is fitted to reduce the temperature demand by a maximum of 2°C in direct sunlight This has the effect of leaving the in-car temperature stable while reducing air outlet temperatures to compensate for increased solar load This sensor is constructed around a photo transistor whose sensing voltage will vary with the ambient light level. An input of 5 volts is supplied to the sensor from pin 43 of the control module. The sensing voltage from the sensor is then fed back into the control module via pin 36.
