CLOSING/LATCHING
Beginning with VIN 173246, XJ-S vehicles incorporate a new trunk lid lock friction plate (BEC 7213), replacing the previously used plate (BDC 6596).


The new friction plate has been introduced to prevent the trunk striker from moving which can cause the trunk lid to be difficult to close and latch.


NOTE: Parts BEC 7213 and BDC 6596 are interchangeable.
