Commencing with VIN 145730, all XJ-S vehicles will incorporate a chloride battery. Due to differences in the battery mounting systems, the chloride battery is not interchangeable with Lucas batteries.

1/8" - 1/4" above battery plates


CAUTION: If the electrolyte level is above 5/16", the level should be lowered.
