2.Convertible Top Removal:

^ Remove the rear quarter trim pad (Repair Operation 76.13.12) and the rear stowage (Repair operation 76.11.16).

^ Release the press studs securing the top interior side curtain straps.

^ Remove the bolts and release the rear window support brackets.

^ Loosen the screws and remove the curtain rod retaining clips. Remove the rods and move the curtains aside.

FIG. 1:

^ Remove the bolts and release the rear quarter headliner retainer brackets.

^ Release the front top locking handles and open the top to the mid position.

^ Release the sections of carpet glued around the top cable mountings. Release the cable locknuts.

^ Loosen the screws and remove the top outer finishers. Remove the tensioning cable.

^ Raise the rear of the top and release the section of headliner adhered to the body aperture flange.

^ Loosen the bolts and remove the operating cylinder pivot brackets, (fig. 1 A).

^ Loosen the bolts securing the top mountings to the body, (fig. 1 B).

^ Select Manual position on the pump valve. Fold and support the top and remove each cylinder upper mounting bolt. Note the position of the space washers.

^ Remove the cylinders from the top brackets and lift the top assembly from the vehicle.
