Radiator: Service and Repair



RENEW

- Open the bonnet.

- Remove the air cleaner element.

- Place a drain tin in position below the radiator drain plug to the offside of the radiator.





- Remove the radiator pressure cap, remove the drain plug (1 Fig 2) and allow the radiator to drain.

- Release the top hose from the radiator and pull clear. Remove the power assisted steering and gearbox (where fitted) cooling pipe unions (2 Fig 2).

- Remove the pipes from the radiator and discard the '0' rings.

- Plug the apertures in the pipes and the radiator.

- Disconnect the expansion tank hose from the radiator, slacken the clip securing the bottom hose to the radiator and pull the pipe clear of the radiator.

- Remove the clip.

- Remove the radiator cowl upper securing clips and remove the cowl.





- Remove the top raii securing bolts (1 Fig 3) and remove the top rail and lift out the radiator assembly.

- Remove the radiator mounting rubbers.

- Reverse the removal procedure to refit the replacement radiator and hoses.

- Tighten the clips, fit a drain plug to the radiator, top up the cooling system with the correct water/anti-freeze solution, refit the pressure cap and air cleaner, close the bonnet.

Bottom water hose to radiator 3.8 - 4.3 Nm
Lower panel-radiator assembly to body 22 - 28 Nm
Steering cooler hoses to radiator 19 - 23 Nm
Top rail to body bolts 7-1O Nm
Top water hose to radiator 3.8 - 4.3 Nm
