Functional Test

Open both front doors.

Sit in the driver's seat.

Ensure ignition is switched off with key in ignition switch.

Ensure inertia switch is not tripped.

Both belts should be in the unrestrained (front dock) position.

^ If not, complete test numbers 2, 3, 13, and 15.

Select park.

Switch ignition ON (position II).

Both belts should still be in the unrestrained (front dock) position.

^ If not, complete test number 10.

Close the driver's door.

Driver's seat belt should move to the restrained (rear dock) position.

^ If not, complete test numbers 1, 4, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12.
FUNCTIONAL TEST, Close front passenger's door.

Front passenger's seat belt should move to the restrained (rear dock) position.

^ If not, complete test numbers 1, 7, 8, and 11.

Detach driver's seat belt from it's anchor using the emergency release button.

Both the seat belt warning lamp and V.C.M. warning should be displayed.

^ If not, complete test numbers 5, 9, 16, and 18.

An audible warning should sound for approximately 6 seconds.

^ If not, complete test number 20.

Replace the seat belt in it's anchor.

Both the seat belt warning lamp and V.C.M. warning should go out.

^ If not, complete test numbers 6, 17, and 19.

The audible warning should also stop.

^ If not, complete test number 21.

Raise the rebet button on the top of the inertia switch.

Open both front doors.

Both seat belts should remain in the restrained (rear dock) position.

^ If not, complete test number 14.

Push down the reset button on the top of the inertia switch.

Both belts should move to the unrestrained (front dock) position.

^ If not, complete test number 15.

Close driver's door.

Select reverse.
FUNCTIONAL TEST

Open driver's door.

The driver's belt should be in the restrained (rear dock) position.

^ If not, complete test number 10.

Select park.

The driver's belt should move to the unrestrained (front dock) position.

^ If not, complete test number 11.

Close both front doors.

Switch ignition off.

Both belts should move to the unrestrained (front dock) position.

^ If not, complete test number 13.
