VEHICLE TOWING STRAPS
WORKSHOP ADMINISTRATION No. 4
Model: XJ6 3.6 Date: June, 1987
KEY POINTS: TOWING STRAP USAGE
XJ6 3.6 vehicles are not equipped with towing brackets.

To enable vehicle towing, a pair of nylon straps are provided for emergency towing service.

When a vehicle arrives at the dealership, the towing straps will be located in the glovebox. Dealers should then place the straps in the trunk, wrapping them around the jack (behind the spare wheel) prior to customer delivery.

Towing Loop Usage:

Loop the straps over the two front or rear bumper struts and pull both strap loops together, thus providing attaching points for a tow hook.

CAUTION: Towing loops are to be used only for winching a vehicle onto a flatbed. They are not to be used for the actual towing of a vehicle.
After usage, the towing straps should be replaced in the trunk of the vehicle.
