V12 Piston/Liner Replacements


MODEL XJ-S DATE 5/91


ISSUE:

Correct installation of replacement pistons and liners on V12 engines.

ACTION:

Individual pistons and liners are sold as a matched pair. Pistons must ONLY be replaced with the matched liner.

A mix of "A" and "B" grade piston/liner sets is allowable in the same engine.


NOTE: The XJ-S Repair Manual Section 12.25.26 incorrectly states that replacement cylinder liners must be of the same grade as the original liner.
