4040 Software Changes

Using software issue DBC 4040 you can now return to the previous screen after JDS has supplied its fault description. If the last operation performed caused JDS to supply an incorrect diagnosis, the last measurement can be retaken by pressing the down arrow on the measurement probe. The fault diagnostic screen will display an arrow symbol in the bottom right hand corner adjacent to the "Fl" symbol indicating that this option is available.

After pressing the arrow:
"Press [ENTER] to continue" "Press [YES] for previous measurement else [NO]"

Choose [YES] to retake the measurement.

To test an electrical system with 4040 insert disk A into the JDS machine. If disk B is needed to complete a diagnosis JDS will provide instructions to remove disk A and install disk B.

The instrument pack, engine management and transmission ECUs have the ability to communicate with JDS through serial
connunication links. Access for the all three systems is via the brown PM4 connectors:

LB 145 - located behind the left side "All post fuse box is for instrument pack communication.

LI57 - attached to the battery tray is for transmission and engine management ECUS.

These two connectors allow pod 7 to act as an interface between the vehicle an JDS, during information transfer and testing.
