KEYPOINTS: TRIP COMPUTER READINGS
ISSUE:
Incorrect fuel consumption readings, on trip computers Trip computers may display average fuel consumption, readings of 25-35 mpg or more, and a 99 mpg instantaneous fuel consumption reading between 2100-2200 rpm (with throttle applied).
ACTION:
A new engine management ECU (DBC 6352) was introduced at VIN 610000. As a running challange to this ECU, the fuel pulse signal was revised but only the Lucas part number was changed to part number 80138-B.
Check the engine management ECU part number. Install the appropriate replacement as indicated below in "Parts Information".
NOTE: Do not change the instrument pack.
