KEY POINTS: BATTERY TEST PROCEDURE
To determine the cause of a no start condition, the test procedure included in this bulletin must be performed prior to any battery replacements.
In order to perform this test procedure, the following Service Publication and Technical Bulletins will be needed for reference:
^ Focus Book Electrical System, Batteries and Charging, S-62.
^ Technical Bulletin section 86, number 56
^ Technical Bulletin section 86, number 66
^ Technical Bulletin section 86, number 68
If battery replacement is necessary, install battery DBC 5995 (white), which supersedes battery JLM 9992 (blue).
When a battery is replaced, the test data must be recorded on form S-37 and the form filed in the vehicle history file (refer to Administration Bulletin section Warranty, number 18).
