Toe-In
Toe-in Adjustment:
1. With tires properly inflated and wheels in a straight-ahead position, remove access plug from the steering rack and insert steering rack alignment pin tool No. JD100 or equivalent. Fig. 3.
2. Slowly turn steering wheel until tool locates itself in recess in rear of rack.
3. Check toe-in alignment.
4. If adjustment is necessary, loosen locknuts at outer ends of tie rods and loosen clips holding tie rod retaining bracket.
5. Turn tie rods an equal amount until alignment is within specifications.
6. Tighten locknuts while holding tie rod end spanner flats.
7. Recheck alignment.
8. Ensure boots are not twisted, then tighten clips.
9. Remove centralizing tool and install access plug.
