44-15Transmission - Kickdown Switch Operation
MODEL: 90-91 MY Sedan
DATE: 1/92
ISSUE:
Electronic transmission goes into "Limp Home" mode (illuminating the transmission warning light) after operation of the kickdown switch. This will occur after the kickdown switch is depressed and the throttle is allowed to travel past the specified "Wide Open Throttle" stop.
ACTION:
If this problem occurs, the following throttle linkage adjustments must be performed:
1. Install tool JD 131 on the throttle stop plate. Align the pointer to the "I" on the bellcrank, (Fig. 1). Then slide the pointer back to clear the return spring.
2. Loosen the full throttle stop lock nut, (Fig. 2).
3. Turn the bellcrank to "Wide Open Throttle" and move the pointer back towards the bellcrank, (Fig. 3). The pointer MUST align with the "M" mark.
4. Adjust the throttle stop screw until the throttle is in the proper position and secure the locknut.
