Compressor Clutch Relay

PURPOSE
A/C relay concurrently energizes A/C compressor clutch and supplementary air valve, raising idle speed to compensate for A/C compressor load.

OPERATION
When open, the supplementary air valve permits increased idle air flow to right intake manifold to compensate for A/C compressor load. To adjust for automatic transmission load, an idle relay switches supplementary air valve "OFF" when either "N" or "P" shift positions are selected.
