Replace
DISTRIBUTOR CAPRENEW
Open the boot and disconnect the battery earth lead. Open the bonnet.
Disconnect the upper coil multi-plug connector (1).
Remove the bolts securing the cruise control bellows support bracket.
Remove the bolt securing the cruise control valve block.
Disconnect the cruise control valve block multi-plug connector.
Disconnect the vacuum pipe from the cruise control valve block.
Position the cruise control assembly over the intake manifold.
Disconnect the HT leads from the distributor cap 'A' lead to the upper coil 'B' lead to the lower cover. Disconnect the plug HT leads in the following order from the cap:6A-6B-2A-2B-4A-4B-1A-1B-5A-5B-3A-3B.
Remove the screws securing the distributor cap and remove the cap.
Remove and discard the gasket.
Fit the new cap and gasket to the distributor, ensure the cap is seated correctly.
Fit and tighten the securing screws. Reconnect the HT leads. Refit the cruise control assembly, connect the vacuum pipe.
Reconnect the multi plugs. Reconnect the battery earth lead.
