Open the boot and disconnect the battery earth lead. Open the bonnet.

Jack up the front of the vehicle, support on axle stands.

Remove the flywheel sensor heatshield. Remove the bolts securing the flywheel sensor and displace the sensor from its position.

Rotate the flywheel to obtain the TDC position on the crankshaft pulley.

This will ensure the rotor arm arrow will align with the nick in the distributor body and the jackshaft cover.

Refit the flywheel sensor and heatshield.

Remove the stands and lower the front of the vehicle.

Remove the distributor cap.

Remove the bolts securing the distributor.

Remove the distributor vent pipes.

Remove the distributor assembly.

When fitting the new distributor, ensure the arrow on the rotor arm is in-line with the nick in the distributor body and the line on the jackshaft cover.

Fit the vent pipes. Fit and tighten the securing bolts. Refit the distributor cap. Reconnect the battery earth lead.
