Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect electrical connectors from switch terminals.
3. Remove switch attaching bolt holding nut.
4. Remove switch.
5. After replacing switch, leave switch attaching bolt loose.
6. Adjust position of switch so stoplights operate when brake pedal is depressed and go off when pedal is fully released. The ignition switch must be on while adjustments are being made.
7. Tighten switch attaching bolt.
