Model: ALL Date: DECEMBER, 1990

Add a condensate drainage hole using Service Tool JAG 1510.

PROCEDURE- (XJ-S VIN Range 145000 - 168340):

^ Assemble the guide bushing and carbide burr into the collet of a compressed air high speed grinder so that 3/4" of the burr is engaged into the collet. Tighten the chuck nut.

^ Remove both footwell air ducts.

^ Remove tbe rubber adaptors from the A/C case drain stubs and position the drain tubes clear of the area.

^ Slide the guide bushing into the left-hand case stub and fully seat it up to the flange.

FIG. 1:

^ Operate the high speed grinder at its fastest speed and gradually push the carbide burr into contact with the deflector plate inside the A/C case, (fig. 1).

^ Apply light pressure until the tool cuts through the deflector plate, (Fig. 1)

NOTE: Do not make the hole larger than 3/16", as it can adversely affect drainage.

^ Using rags, collect any water that drains from the A/C case to prevent trim/carpet damage.
NOTE: Debris will wash from the internal drain area when the A/C is in operation.

^ Repeat the operation for the right-hand drain stub.

^ Install the condensation drain adaptor, footwell air ducts, and underdash panels.
