Electronic Transmission

The diagnostic software has been enhanced for diagnosing multiple dynamic faults. DBC 4050 allows JDS to differentiate static from dynamic faults. Typically, a dynamic fault code can only be stored while the vehicle is being driven.

Transmission warning illuminated - Software issue DBC 4050 allows JDS to scan the ECU and retain all dynamic fault codes in memory. The highest priority fault is tested first. After completion of the highest priority test, the next fault code is recalled from memory and tested. This procedure is repeated until all dynamic faults have been tested.

Intermittent faults - JDS identifies intermittent faults as "NON TESTABLE."

Permanent faults - JDS tests tbe components and wiring to determine the lowest replaceable unit.

Note: JDS assigns incorrect pin numbers at connector GB7. When asked to probe GB7, ignore the JDS pin number information. Use the drawing below to cross reference the wire color indicated by JDS to select the correct pin number.
