Coolant Header Tank Cap Seal Leak - Lubricate Seal

ISSUE:

Leaks from the cooling system header cap can be caused by overfilling or by deformation of the cap seal upon cap installation.

ACTION:

If the header tank cap seal leaks, check that the header tank is not overfilled. When cold, the coolant level should be to the base of the plastic insert.

If the header tank is not overfilled, replace the filler cap and seal assembly.

NOTE:
Before installing the cap, lubricate both sides of the cap seal with silicon fluid.
