Passenger Side Underdash Panel - Removal

ISSUE:

The passenger side underdash panel was changed beginning with VIN 629362.

The panel can be easily damaged when removing it for electrical component access.

ACTION:

Special Tool JD 188 has been introduced to prevent panel damage during removal.

Use the following procedure to remove the passenger side underdash panel.

^ Remove the four screws retaining the right-hand side and lower edge of the panel.





^ Using Special Tool JD 188, carefully release the 5 plastic friction retaining clips right below the glove box lid. Start at the outside edge and work towards the center console, using a twisting action, (Fig. 1).


NOTE:
To prevent panel damage, DO NOT pull the panel off the friction retaining pins.
