A/C CONTROL PANEL MALFUNCTIONS


Model: 88-91 MY SEDAN Date: FEBRUARY, 1991

KEY POINTS: Do NOT REPLACE THE A/C PANEL


ISSUE:

A/C control panel malfunctions due to a faulty ECU. Control panel malfunctions are the following:

^ No fan speed response when LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH mode is selected, although the DEFROST mode operates normally.

^ High speed fan in LOW mode slows down when NORMAL mode is selected.

^ Control panel illumination is out of sequence or flashing.

ACTION:

Install a replacement ECU in conjunction with the correct water temperature switch (identified by the color of the switch plastic body).

Refer to the following information for correct replacement ECU installation:

NOTE: The 560 ohm resistor (JLM 1901) in the water temperature switch circuit must be removed when installing ECU JLM 2211 on vehicles up to VIN 594576.
